Using the Copy To > Fill in I/O Unit feature creates points not associated with a module and crashes PAC Control
Applies To:
PAC Control Basic
PAC Control Professional
Versions Affected:
All versions
Symptoms:
When configuring your I/O points in PAC Control using the Copy To > Fill in I/O Unit feature on the Configure I/O Modules and Points window, the Strategy Tree may be populated with copies that are not associated with an I/O unit and appear in unused positions. When you attempt to save and compile the strategy or inspect one of those points, PAC Control may crash.
If you add an I/O unit to an unused position with copied points, the points may appear as the wrong type.
Workaround:
Manually add and configure the I/O points you need. For more information, see the "Manually Adding groov I/O Modules & Channels or SNAP I/O Modules & Points" section in Chapter 6 of the PAC Control User's Guide (form 1700).
If you have already copied the point and filled the I/O unit, delete the unused I/O points before saving and compiling the strategy.
